Lakmé Fashion week is one the most prominent events that is held twice a year in India. This is an event which every fashion designer, model, celebrity and everyone in India and abroad looks forward to. LFW has become a popular event in India, because it not only gives famous designers the opportunity to show their new collections but also, Lakmé Fashion Week allows many emerging fashion designers to flaunt their finest designs and talents in the world of Indian fashion.

Lakmé Fashion Week, also abbreviated at LFW, is jointly organised by Lakmé, the number one cosmetics brand in India, and IMG Fashion, a global leader company in management of production and fashion events worldwide. The purpose behind creating LFW was because of a vision to:

“Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world.”

Lakmé and IMG fashion try to set off this vision by hosting a LFW twice a year in India.

In September 2010, the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive was held in Mumbai. This 5 day fashion odyssey not only allowed the top of the line fashion designers in India to promote their new collections, but Lakmé and IMG also provided some lucky new emerging fashion designers in India to uphold their new collections in Mumbai.
